Better than the alternative! She keeps staggering back.

"Lose it at the next branch!"

Where is the next branch in the sewer? They can't be that uncommon.

The next branch in the maze is about seventy feet ahead of them.

"Just more than five seconds ahead at full speed! Go left!"

To the left. Alright. She can feel for a break in the wall even if she can't see.

The sounds of movement and shrieking become slightly more distant.

Onwards she goes, feeling along the (slimy, disgusting) wall. And... there's the turn, just at the edge of her reach. She's a few seconds off.

The gibbering mouther is still following her, ever more distantly.

In to the tunnel, and a Silent Image of the same sort of wall as the rest of the sewer to block it off. Hopefully it works, she mostly remembers this area but not perfectly. The sewers are pretty uniform. She will have to continue after, but that thing won't be in her way.

The sounds fade away as she runs down the tunnel.

Eventually she can see again, but by then it's too far for her to spot anything the blob is doing. She holds the image and keeps moving, as quietly as she can, looking for an alternate path to where she actually needs to be.

There's another turn in the maze forty feet ahead of her.

She'll let Lhín scout this one out to see if there's anything immediately lethal right there, then around she goes. (Well, after some time to make sure the mouth thing has really lost her.)

Lhín doesn't sense or spot any creatures around the corner.

The shrieking has faded away. The gibbering mouther has not followed her through the illusory wall.

Onwards, then.

Tencednil has to take a bit of a detour. It delays her a little.

After reorienting herself, she makes it out the maze, up the ladder in the cylindrical chute, and through the sewers. After all that, 44 Stone's End is a pleasant sight.

Oh good, she is out.

Home, to talk with Mother about the ring. With just the two of them, she can get a reasonable price quickly with no shenanigans necessary — the price is no better, but the Bank doesn't need to be involved in the processing. She also already has all the onyx she needs. There was enough on the desk to fill up the 200 gold sail maximum for the bets she'll be placing.

Ring to Mother, buy some ink, find a child, make her deniable account, place the bets, deposit letters in it. She knows how to do this. She's done it before. These will be mostly the same letters to the conspiracy as she remembers sending. Some wording changes because she's not perfect, and she removes almost all of the hinting from the last letter because it was pointless if Norgorber isn't at odds with himself. The general idea is the same, though.

Once all that is done... those arrows hurt, and her eyes probably could do with some healing even if they seem fine for now. She sits for a Channel.

The Bank accepts her bets and sends her letters. It's a little over half an hour until the next channel.

She will sit and wait. Does anyone else here look worth talking to? She can spend her time grumbling about injuries with someone random, but if anyone looks like they have a story she might actually learn something.

There's an injured Varisian man sitting nearby. He's carrying a large pack and is wearing a cloak and a headband.

Definitely looks interesting. That.... yes, that is a magic headband, magic headbands are expensive. And also a magic cloak? Caster of some sort, then?

She walks over and sits down near him. A caster skilled enough to afford a headband and more is unlikely to be in need of a channel through random chance, and must be taking risks regularly, so he probably got himself in a situation of some sort. He'd probably be happy to talk about it. Humans usually are. Is it interesting? Maybe, maybe not, but it's another tool, and a way to justify leaving Korvosa to somewhere she can reach Morgethai from might be good. She can't seem too knowing, though...

"So what got you? Anything good?" She grins, shrugs her shoulder a bit, and winces slightly. "Just a few goblins for me."

He looks up from a strange paper written in an unknown language. "I did not encounter any goblins today. I did run into some rather nastier things down in the Vaults."

Interesting phrasing. She hasn't strongly committed to a register yet, she could...

She shakes herself a bit, calming slightly and shifting forwards. "Down in the deeper Vaults? I have mostly stayed to the sewers, being on my own. Color Sprays go far, but not far enough without a good blade to back them up."

He perks up when she mentions her exploratory activities. "I've been on a bit of an expedition myself these past few days. The tunnels go down for miles. Deep into the earth. Lots of ancient ruins and treasure and horrible monsters down there."
