Step by step they make their way in.

Magically illuminated stone passages and arches, Kel turns this way and that in various bifurcations until they eventually reach a huge antechamber with an enormous stone door covered with indecipherable carvings. No handle to speak of.

"… Is this one of the deadly traps?"

"No, this is one of the puzzly traps."

"...puzzly."

"It's not all deadly, it's more, like, puzzles, you know. Which you have to solve."

"Huh."

"And does it do – trappy things – if you do it wrong? Or is it just a puzzle blocking the way further in?"

"Just a puzzle but we've solved this one a while ago actually."

Nod.

"Wanna give it a shot?"

"… I can try?" He looks over at Dayo. "Not really sure… where to start…"

Dayo's already staring intently at the door.

Ookay.

Anthony will do that also, for a brief period.

Dayo tries... gently pushing it. No give. "Had to give it a shot," he shrugs.

Kel laughs. "It's not that easy."

Anthony looks for some movable component, some grooves in the wall that might outline something he can shift.

There aren't any, really. Just bunches of strange carvings on a wood panel shaped like a door embedded on the wall.

Doesn't react if he pokes any of the carvings?

They glow where he touches them.

"Ooh."

"I'm not seeing a pattern to the symbols…" he says.

He tries poking some more, seeing if they all glow on touch or if it's a limited subset.

Seems like it's all of them.

All the same color, all responding about as quickly as each other? No other noticeable signs, like heat?

Yes, yes, no.

He pulls a face. "Brute force is gonna take a heck of a long time."

"It is, yeah. I'm trying to guess a pattern here, like... My thinking is that there must be something hidden in the carvings, some drawing of some sort, and if we light it up right then it'll do things."

"Hmm."

Anthony steps back and surveys it, trying to look for some markings that match up.

There are a lot of things that could potentially match up! Lots of carved lines in straights and curves intersecting each other forming patterns.

"I'm not seeing anything obvious," he says. "Lots of possible matches."

How long do the symbols glow for? Any pattern to how long they glow for, some suggestion a particular pattern might work better than others?
