Emily likes Ellis about as much as she likes anyone, which is to say that she still doesn't prefer to see him very often.  But he did let himself get lit on fire at her instruction a bunch of times, and he was the most convenient person who did that, socially, so when she does feel like interacting with people it's often with him.  When they're on the same continent.

His wife is also probably fine, in her opinion.  She doesn't really know her.  But Ellis wants her to, which is why the three of them are off practicing choreography in the woods by themselves.

Emily is not notably faster than most other vampires, but she's nimbler just by virtue of being smaller.  This is part of what makes dancing fun, is the way she can duck in between people and under their arms, and most importantly, the way she can fly.  (Someday she's going to fly for real.  Under her own power, either when an ability comes in or when she figures out how to make mundane, regular objects let her.  Birds can; someday people will as well, all people, and unless someone else beats her to it it's going to be because of her.  And probably no one's going to beat her to it, if they haven't yet.)

In the meantime, people who were adults when they woke up are capable of pitching her quite high in the air, and that's pretty fun, she'll admit.  And she already knew that Celine was a good singer, but until now Emily had only heard her in genres that she didn't particularly care about.  So it's looking to be a pretty nice night.  Somewhat surprisingly.

Somewhat more surprisingly, on her way falling back down, she sees something off about the ground.  It's - glowing?  With intricate lines and patterns.

She doesn't get the chance to examine it very closely before the adults fall through it and, without them to catch her, she does too.
