Epione squints. "Bluuuue?" she guesses. "There's not quite enough that I'm positive."

Oh! "Blue would make sense," she says, nodding.

She's curious about other body changes, but she really doesn't want to get caught checking herself out. Maybe later.

The taxi comes to a stop at the teleport point. "Everybody out, you don't wanna land in a sitting position without your seat," Kevin says.

Oh! Right! Teleporting!

It doesn't feel real, somehow. She follows Epione's lead, clutching her packed bag tight.

And when he punches in the request there is a thirty-second wait, and then there they are, standing in a completely different lot in Toronto.

"Gotta love those marbles, huh?" he says, hailing another cab.

What. They just. What? Huh?

"... marbles?"

"Are you okay? It doesn't feel like anything but it's pretty startling the first time, isn't it."

"The entire continent's nonemergency teleport services are based around this one esper, a Ms. Ablinger who has a really efficient but godawfully specific power," Kevin says, pocketing his phone once a taxi is pulling up for them. In they get. "She can reflect things from one side of herself to the other. Great distance, but if you don't happen to want to be exactly the same distance from wherever she's standing in the other direction, not that useful. There's marbles, now, reverse-engineered dungeon materials, that she can imprint and spend a few days counting as her. So there's a marble between most pairs of major cities, now, swapped out now and again, and when I ordered the teleport it told Ms. Ablinger to put the three of us on the other side of a specific marble, which drops us here."

"Yeah! I thought I was ready but I really wasn't expecting it to be so... sudden," she replies.

She pauses, digesting Kevin's explanation. "Oh! That's so cool."

She pulls out her phone, trying to figure out where the marble between Toronto and Seattle is.

Into the taxi they all get, Epione in the middle. "We can check if you and I are compatible at some point, it's not impossible, but it's not how I'd bet," Kevin remarks.

"Oh! Sure?" she holds out her hand uncertainly.

Boop. "- not as bad as I thought it'd be, I guess we don't have to carefully avoid bumping into each other, but not good."

What an odd sensation! "How bad is very bad?"

"One time at a mixer I shook someone's hand and he looked like he wanted to throw up, though as far as I know he didn't actually?"

"Wow." She shudders.

...the contact reminded her of guiding and now she wants to touch Epione again. Does she have a non awkward way to make that happen...

Epione's not making it hard to hold her hand.

! Kani will go for a handhold. Shyly. And awkwardly.

eee! She will lean in to maximize contact, sighing happily.

(Thrana makes a soft humming noise as Kani leans into them, and Kani smiles sleepily...)

Her eyes squeeze shut, and she freezes up a bit.

"...Kani?"

"...Sorry," she whispers.

(Automatically, she relaxes her hand, so Epione can let go of her easily if she wants.)

No, handholding is fine and good. "Do you maybe want to call your dads, let them know we've teleported safely?"

Well a phone call sounds kind of impossible! But she'll text them with her free hand, and the resulting conversation distracts her successfully.

(After a minute or so, she tentatively attempts to lean into Epione again).
