"I'm confused."

"Elves do magical soul marriage. Or science chip marriage, I guess. On my world it's just announcing you're married like I assume it is on yours."

Nod.

"Magic soul marriage is between a man and a woman, social changes would be nice but wouldn't touch that."

"Well, that sounds inconvenient. They should still adjust exactly what they mean by 'voluntary', but I guess if one couldn't get married otherwise and didn't yet have anyone in mind some people might go for it even in an environment of more acceptance."

He nods.

He is bored by this topic and idly changing the colors of things.

This is fascinating! "I hope Jovah doesn't think it's a terrible idea to have magic in Samaria."

"It does healing. If he'd care about that."

"That worried the Valar also, that and general - disruptiveness."

"Well. He won't banish anybody for asking, that's what the oracles are there for."

"That's good. We'll stay here while you ask, though, I think."

"That's fine. Are there any other things I should ask while I'm at Sinai?"

"Ask about technology too, maybe?"

"What about it? We're allowed to invent things, just not weapons."

"Lightleapers? That would let you go visit the other suns?"

"Okay, those I'm not sure."

"We don't have any weapons but we have those."

"I'll ask."

"Good skill."

"Huh?"

" - with bringing your questions to Jovah?"

"It doesn't call for much skill."

"It's the customary expression of well wishes for a task with an uncertain result."
