It's very, very cold out here. The air is thin, the sky is dark, and everything in sight is covered in snow. Off in the distance, a thin beam of light pierces the sky.
Grea– actually not great in that it would probably be better if he never had cause to be familiar with concepts involving being delirious and in pain. But, uh, convenient in this case.
Sarah heads over to Chris.
"Someone's been leaving urine bottles by my room instead of properly dealing with them himself and I think it's Jared, he keeps giving me weird looks."
"Uh. I'm sorry to hear that, that's very inappropriate of whoever's been doing it. We could set up a webcam by your room?"
"...this really should have been arranged ahead, the truth magic will not last indefinitely and if he has any procedural objection he can easily stall it out."
"I'm sorry. Uh, please do talk to me if this happens again. I will make some attempt to keep an eye on Jared based on what seems reasonable."
"Sometimes you – uh, sometimes people need to do something outdoors for a moderately extended period but not one so long that it makes sense to set up an entire toilet facility."
"We're somewhat trying not to make a mess of the place. We do have a wastewater pocket under the ice, and we run fossil fuel generators, but running a station here without those would be very hard. It's a lot easier not to leave garbage and fluids strewn around. We actually send trash and recyclables back off the continent."
Nobody else seems to have important questions for Blai so the doctor will just ask now.
"This is hopefully not actually an urgent question, but since I'm thinking about your medical needs: Do you need to be able to talk to heal yourself?"
"So if you're unconscious and doing a bad job breathing, we can put a tube in to help you breathe and then you'll be able to use a channel to heal once you're conscious?"
"I get the impression that you aren't that interested in science sorts of things but I am still tempted to ask you if you want to see your blood under a microscope."
"What would I learn from this that I could not learn from looking at a picture of blood on a computer?"
"Well, all the pictures on the computer are of other people's blood which might look different seeing as how we're from a different planet from you."
