honestly most of the ichos thing sounds like purity cascade bullshit but who among us #amongus hasn't felt a little skeezy about the regular crop of seventeen year olds hypertortured for a week and promptly shuffled off into glitzy galas where they audition for intense physical intimacy with older industry professionals

#i remember when this was a guro blog #but i guess its my job to problematize everything about espers and esper culture now #since apparently the only other people doing it are old school callout post writers and new wave political lesbians inventing new slurs for trans men #please try to take careful note: i said "a little skeezy" and not "spittingly morally outraged" #not porn

your absolutely right we have to find those monsters who are hypertorturing seventeen year olds for a week and bring them to account


#actually the problem is that the teenagers are then welcomed into a serious professional environment as full members thereof #can't have that #those are children #give them crayons

Not that I don't get where OP is coming from but tbc nobody is making us go to esper meetups? It's just a prereq for figuring out what our powers are safely, and most of us want to do that after going through the week of hypertorture. 

#I waited almost two weeks to go to my first mixer #and my understanding that lots of us wait longer? #my partner definitely did lol #but I've never been a patient girlie #but yeah they should have just given me crayons :( #I'm not 25 yet so my brain hasn't fully developed :((

Nah it's fine, as long as an esper never uses their power they never have to be exposed to the dangers of pre-age-of-consent handholding

my partner awakened at 16 and he's never really mentioned any skeeviness, but I guess he might have been protected by having family in the industry already. I've never noticed anything really bad, either, but I am reliably informed I'm bad at noticing this kinda thing!
