The drive to the camping trip is almost as beautiful as the trip itself is going to be. It's long and meandering, through hills and over rivers, along narrow roads where there's nowhere to pass for miles. By the time they make it to the trailhead, the sun is already threatening to set. By the time they're halfway to the first campsite, they've all turned on their headlamps.
Seven lights move through the dark.
They reach a river, the last obstacle before they can finally set up camp, and, just as the last person is stepping onto the bank, all of the lights go out.
There's a brief clamor as everyone speaks up at once. And then, as suddenly as they went off, all the lights return.
Eight headlamps now shine out, into the dark.
