Oof. Bad compatibility, but not the worst. Lawrence draws his lips tight and retracts his hand.

Yeah, ew. Marza sticks out her tongue very slightly before remembering she's at an Event.
"So what do you guys do? I've got lightning, which is exciting."
"Exciting!" Lachlan agrees. "I can clear away or normalize environmental hazards in an area around me, like harsh temperature, dust, radiation, and the like. I'm currently doing some environmental cleanup but I might be deployed into a dungeon if I find a good partner, to escort kidnappees in dungeons with dangerous conditions."
Did she actually stick her tongue out at him? He's not going to comment on it. Maybe it's her backlash.
"I can control the movements of an entity momentarily," Lawrence says, in a rehearsed tone.
"Oh boy, there's a cocktail party trick. It sounds really mean, though, and I like that. And Lachlan, yours sounds like great utility for a nasty enough dungeon! Have you guys already shaken hands, should you?"
That is such a thing to say. But it beats having someone be appalled or afraid. Even if he isn't exactly being forthright about the extent of his power. Lawrence smiles slightly, in lieu of responding by opening his mouth.
Right, they should do that. He extends his hand to Lachlan also.
Shake!
Wow, that's really good compatibility! It's the best he's experienced thus far, though he's only been an esper for less than two months so it's not like he has a big sample size.
Lawrence feels similarly! Though his sample size is even smaller; he's been an esper for less than a month.
He really wants to continue touching but they have a third person with them and he doesn't want to be rude. With an act of will, he removes his hand from Lawrence's.
"Very compatible," he says matter-of-factly, then faces Marza. "I'm very new as an esper so I'm still learning dungeoneering tactics and protocol. I hope to be more useful soon. The issue with my power is that it would nullify attacks like your electricity. I'm still working on my speed and finesse on expanding and shrinking my range so that I can avoid that."
"Oh, yeah, it'd suck to have a dungeon partner who nullifies my power. Talk about defeating the purpose." She shakes her head. "And I've already got an out-of-dungeon guide, he's a civilian who does, like, chemistry. But nice to have a backup, still. ...in Singapore."
"The more potential guides, the better. They're a medical necessity," he says, in the tone of a truism. He feels like inquiring about the chemist guide but...it doesn't seem like they're going to interact in a significant capacity in the future.
"Would you be willing to share contact details? I can also give you my supervisor's details."
"Oh, yeah, of course, they gave me cards –"
She pulls out a card declaring her to be Marza, with the appropriate 三十六天罡 guild contact information. "If you've got one I can take it, or you can just email me so it's in our records."
"I do!" And he can give him one that the Singapore Armed Forces printed for him. He will also give Lawrence one.

Lawrence's power doesn't seem like it would be nullified by Lachlan's, so they have okay synergy. Lawrence is likewise still learning dungeoneering but he'll almost certainly be a combat esper, with his power. The sort you bring out for boss monsters and put away immediately afterwards.
He had Quasar print business cards for him. They're very simple and utilitarian because he didn't have time to think of a more creative design. Good cardstock, though.

He will give one to Lachlan with both hands and a bow, as he was taught to do in his media and etiquette training class...and then one to Marza too, because they're cheap and it would be useful to have a connection as a new esper, even if they have bad compatibility and don't have synergistic powers. And because it seems like it would be rude.
"Oh, uh, thanks."
Lawrence gets a card too, how about. All very polite.
"I'm going to go work on my canapés, maybe chat to a few more people. See you guys later."
