"Hmmmmm."  Tim is giving it some moderate thought.  "Wrist, maybe?  If you look at your wrist, see how there's a notch between your wrist and where your hand starts?"  Tim holds up his own wrist to demonstrate, and pops it as well.  "There aren't really any muscles there.  I still couldn't wear it in a dungeon, of course, but."  Playful eyeroll and a shrug.  "Day to day should be fine."

"Hmm..." She nods thoughtfully. "Not a choker, but a torc? Earrings, maybe? It couldn't be anything on your forearm or upper arms, or legs. Piercings in general would probably be fine, too, though."

A torc?  Is that like a collar?  "Er.  Probably not.  A torc."  I need to check that later.  "I guess I could get a piercing, if I don't like it it'll be easy to fix."

"Mhm! It would be better if it was something that didn't dangle, probably... Studs are boring. An ear cuff?"

"Hmm.  I think an ear cuff would be kind of cool, actually.  Especially if we did it ourselves."  Esper money can't buy that"How about you?  I suppose you're already decorated enough, huh?"

She is in fact wearing earrings, though they're boring old hoops at the moment, and fairly covered by her hair.

"I wouldn't mind another pair of earrings." She considers their copper chunk. "There should be plenty for both of us, I think."

"Hmmmm.  I wonder.  Can I get my hands back, please?  But stay guiding me?"  It's not like she's lacking a spot to touch.

"Mhm," she sets a hand on his elbow and frees his hands, watching curiously.

Use a super-strong nail.  Scraaaape off a bit.  A bit more.  There.  Okay, let's see if this works. Squish it all together.  Roll it.  Keep rolling it.  Keeeeep rolling it.  After a several minutes of this, Tim has an acceptable(if not beautiful) copper 'rod', of a size that would probably fit in a piercing.  "Think it'll fit?"

She watches him mold the copper with fascination this time, not being focused on the rock anymore.

"In your ear? Probably, it looks slim enough for a fresh hole. I... hope you're not thinking of stabbing yourself with it."

"I mean in yours!  You have the piercings, not me!"

"Oh!" She giggles. "Sorry. I have seen too many movies where someone decides to give themselves a piercing. Yes, that should fit in my ears, though it's a little long to be comfortable. If you could slice it in half, it would be good for two?"

"Well, let's see if it fits before I do anything permanent?" Brief pause, as he realizes he can just.  Undo it.  "Er.  You know what I mean."

"Yes," she is covering her smile again. "Just a moment."

She needs both hands to take out an earring, but shortly a hand will return to his arm leaving a hole free for the copper rod.

Poooooke?  Will the copper rod fit?  Looks like it's a pretty good fit to Tim, but he doesn't have to wear them all day.  Yet.

It fits!

"That's good, it isn't pushing the piercing at all, but it feels secure."

She reaches up to touch it, wiggling the rod to see if it causes any discomfort when it moves. It does not.

Well, Tim is perfectly capable of removing it, measuring to the halfway mark, and pincering it in half with two fingernails.  "Okay, it might not be unique, but maybe you have a point about skill being a thing here.  Maybe."  His tongue darts out at Sara for a moment.  "You think we can add a gem here, or just two hoops?"

"Hmm, I will need a mounting for it... Do you think you could mold some copper around a gem if I picked one out? I can attach them afterwards, just a little connection won't be too much backlash."

"I have no idea.  Let's find out."  A few minutes of experimentation reveals: Yes, yes he can.  Just a liiitttle squish of copper.

Then Sara will pick out a suitable gem to replace the test rock!

"Is this for you or me? Because if it's for you I will take out the spessartites," she holds up the case of gems those are as she rejoins him, the other two being under her arm.

"This batch can be you, since my guest doesn't want me to pierce myself right in front of her."

"You will have to leave it unhealed long enough to seal, won't you? That's an infection risk, and this is hardly a sterile environment," she sniffs theatrically. "Besides, neither of us knows the best place to pierce."

She digs through a different box to the one his spessartites are in, eventually pulling out some blue gems just about the same shade as her eyes. She takes a moment to shape them, leaving them still rough but a little more even, and then offers them to him for setting.

"Sapphires are nice with copper."

“Oh, these are pretty.  I guess an international industrial gem esper would have good taste.”  Caaarrreeeful squish one.  Caaarrreeeful gem squish two.

”Very handmade, although I don’t think it’ll qualify for a Made in the USA label.  How do those look?”

She takes one, attaching the two pieces together with the least amount of power, and then turning it in her hand.

"It looks nice! Very handmade," she agrees, "I like them. Let's see if my backs fit on these."

So saying, she pulls her other simple hoop out, locates the first, and salvages them for their backs. They do fit on the copper earrings, so she fits them in.

"What do you think?" She turns her head side to side so he can see.

“Well, I can’t say they look professional.  But they look like the best damn earrings we’ve ever made.  And they have an amazing story..”
