On October 23, Lee Tae-gun and I entered the dungeon Volcanic Range as scouting members of group 5. We set off on the south-east quadrant as planned, propelled by Tae-gun's power on a conjured ice platform. During our survey, we encountered expected levels of resistance, most of which Tae-gun personally dealt with. However, this was more backlash intensive on him than I thought wise at that time, so I began testing the viability of assistance in cleaning up larger packs of weak monsters.
It was upon application of my power on the dungeon's monsters that I made an interesting discovery. I'm not sure what they were made of instead of the superheated rock I expected to fight with, but igniting them felt like consuming tinder, or perhaps coal. Visually, the monsters I ignited brightened, especially at the joints, then darkened and fell inert. This was more backlash efficient than I had expected, and most importantly, they did not explode after death. I hypothesize that I consumed their fuel before they could use it in the typical Volcanic Range explosion, but I am a combat esper, not a dungeon material specialist.
Regardless, my efforts to counter the dungeon's occupants did not go uncontested. While I usually hesitate to anthropomorphize a dungeon, it really does seem like I made it very mad, or possibly it didn't want information about its weakness to escape. Volcanic Range began throwing several dragonlike monsters at us, one from directly below us in the lava, and several more rising up around us to attempt to pen us in. We were able to defeat several of the dragon monsters, but deemed that we should prioritize survival and dissemination of the information we had discovered.
