The small town of Prometheus, CA is located near the coast of the Pacific Ocean, along a river, and next to the I-5 highway. Despite this abundance of natural resources it has remained quite small. Prominent signposts direct the rare incoming visitor to the Prometheus Bed and Breakfast, which, if you entered, would prove to have only four beds and three breakfasts. The town arcade has a Space Invaders, a Pacman, and a giant four-player pinball machine constructed by manic teenagers. In the center of the town's dusty asphalt roads is the General Store, the Food Mart, and the Prometheus Diner sporting a billboard reading "We sell food!"
There is no outward sign of how anyone in this town would earn a living.
A proud sign posted over the road leading in reads, "Why should only the gods have fire?"
