The earthquake, which is estimated to be a 7.9 on the Richter scale, has done significant damage to the infrastructure. Loss of life seems to have been quite light, but there are a significant number of routes that are no longer traversable..
... 376 vehicles of various makes and models are no longer responding to GPS, emergency shutdown commands, or their operators. The rogue vehicles seem to prefer going 90+ MPH. Even the firetrucks have managed to hit a maximum speed of 110 MPH. They don't seem interested in damaging anything. They're just racing around earthquake-struck San Diego, simply ramping off debris. 158 have escaped San Diego, and have significant sections of highways and interstates shut down pending their capture.
... initial hopes were that the vehicles would simply run out of gas. However, phone contact with the firemen inside of Truck 319 reports that the gauge has 'not budged an inch' since she lost control of the truck...
... direct teleportation via the various teleportation networks is unlikely to be a solution, as the victims are simply moving too fast for the systems tried so far to safely lock on to them ...
... we've met with mixed success containing the menagerie monsters. We have a warehouse commandeered for the use. Treating them like parrots seems to work, if they don't see people they don't seem to murder people yet...
