Here is a star system. Tiny inner planet, then a habitable (and in fact inhabited) planet with a moon, then a cold airless metal-rich planet, then a methane iceball, then a gas giant with plenty of moons, then three more little outer system iceballs.
About 21% of the planet's surface is land. There's one big continent nearly split in two by a north-south intercontinental sea. There's four subcontinents and one large island that can't quite be called a subcontinent, each separated from the others by a wide stretch of ocean.
It's inhabited; Photos show clear evidence of roads, reservoirs, large scale constructions, and primitive cities. There are wooden sailing ships. There are a huge number of small villages, some more spread out than others but with almost no large land area completely empty. There are some big temples, especially in the single mountain range on the planet high enough to get snow, smack in the middle part of the right half of the main continent. There are obvious canals. There are huge, winding lake and riverine systems that are densely settled almost all the way along their length.
There is no evidence of any technology more advanced than sailboats and water wheels, from orbit.
Oh, and the planet is also experiencing one unholy hell of a storm season right now. There are no less than four huge hurricane supercells currently active, as well as a few minor ones.
