Seems safe enough.

He heads over to join them, Rowan sticking close behind.

"Afternoon."

"I think when it gets dark out we call it evening."

"Adorable. He knows the meanings of words."

"Well, I was about to ask how you are," Liam says, "but clearly you're both in tip-top condition." He deliberately plays up the British accent.

"Nice place for a picnic, this," he continues.

"It's quiet. It was hard enough convincing him not to do the cemetery."

"We should probably keep moving."

"Yeah, Rowan and I need to get home."

Does there seem to be a clear path to the far side?

There are ways through the site. Callie begins following one, not really waiting for the others.

"Seriously? Wait up."

She follows.

Liam and Rowan follow them, looking around with interest at their surroundings.

He reminds Rowan to watch her step after she nearly trips.

There's something in the sky.

"Liam, look!"

Rowan grabs her brother's arm and points upwards.

"What do you think that is?" she asks, squinting at the something.

He looks.

"I don't know," he says. "It could be a plane - "

Maybe he should start wearing his glasses more. He doesn't really need them for walking around, and he didn't want to risk them getting broken, but...

"It looks like- it does look like a machine."

"No way are we ignoring that, it's heading this way. We should move, it could be- part of a satellite, or something."

It doesn't, actually, look like a satellite. As the bright light rapidly clarifies into a shape, they can make out an ovoid pod, about three to four times as big as car. Parts of it continue to glow as it moves towards them.

Who cares what it is, where is it going to land -

He pulls Rowan further away from the danger zone, swearing under his breath. She's staring at it in fascination and seems to have failed to notice that it's going to crash right near them.

"It's still being piloted."

The ship stops above them, a hundred feet up, hovering in place. They can make out more detail now, like the very distinctive shape at the back, like a needle-sharp tail.

Liam can feel his hair standing on end.

Cassie's hair is spreading out from her body in every direction.

She seems to find this experience disconcerting.

"This is so stupid. I'm not ready to die yet. Let's just go home, now. We have time, it's just hovering, maybe it didn't see us-"

Where's some cover - there, a half-finished wall. He ducks behind it, Rowan following without protest for once. Liam doesn't even try to stop her peeking over the top to see what's going on.

Crouching down - people hardly ever think to look below head height, although that might not apply to whatever's in the ship - he looks round the side of the wall.

Are the others taking cover at all?

Stiles, David, and Callie do.

Scott remains, watching Allison anxiously.

Allison is craning her neck, standing on her toes, as if to get closer to the ship.

It starts to descend.
