Can they keep it confined to the red quarter? If so they can do whatever they want with them.

He so appreciates that. Yes, of course they can keep it to the red quarter.

He has a teleporter drop in to retrieve bodies and mangled servants (someone figured out they stop working if you scratch up the writing badly enough). He hands them off for resurrection according to their preferences (Lórien? at home? on-scene if possible?) He goes to a local court at home for a series of forensic conjurations - how many people were involved, who were they, where are they presently -

It was about ten percent of the population of the quarter and some of them have fled to other red neighborhoods and others are hiding in their own.

They don't actually presently have the capacity to hold that many people even given that they're the imprisonable kind of people. He looks up Warp's prisons and sings to pay for one and corrals fifteen teleporters to go and get them all and drop them off.

The remaining reds in the neighborhood tell the internet.

Disappearing rioters for defending their homes and livelihoods proves the Elves are just like what they have to deal with already.

Almarë posts pictures of the forensics models online to explain the process by which the responsible people were identified. "They murdered three people. When you murder people, you get arrested. Is this in fact how the Tapai would have handled a riot? We got the impression they sometimes arrested people who hadn't even been involved, and that they sometimes injured people while arresting them, and that they didn't always get a trial - or, uh, ever."

Hopefully someone thought to freeze the polls when they hit 85%.

Well, people can still fill out polls if they want, but the robots are now being distributed.

Elves post a video of the preliminary hearings for the rioters. The video is mostly just a judge explaining the process to variously confused and terrified and resentful rioters, and then appointing them attorneys, and then asking about the prison conditions and then making a face at the prosecution and declaring that no, she doesn't think they need to be in prison awaiting trial, "they can get Allspeak and someone can drop them off at the resettlement office, no wonder people don't trust us. So ordered."

The internet is still so suspicious that all their contact with the resettled is Elf-filtered and they can't just fucking email them.

That's fine. The resettlement office asks rioters their names and gives them bracelets and is there anybody they care to live with.

Some of them don't want to cooperate as far as supplying names.

- well, then they can go back to prison. Elves look very unhappy about this.

The ones who did give their names are more scared now. One person tries giving a fake name.

The administrative people seem happy to work with that. Here are bracelets someone will walk you across the street to get you settled in.

How exactly is this different from prison.

...uh, they can go wherever they want and buy things at the stores and socialize with the other reds and if they care to board a ship for the colonies? (They'll be fetched for their court date, but still.)

Can they go home.

Uh, maybe they can ask the on-duty teleporter when the on-duty teleporter isn't someone whose sister they murdered.

Look, if someone's sister shows up to make your entire family redundant someone's sister had it coming.

And yet it seems like possibly this might not convince her to take them home.

How about in the future they don't show up someplace outsiders are not supposed to be to drop off fucking robots and kidnap everybody to a mysterious incommunicado fate.

...they could've let the Tapai handle it but Prince Canafinwë did not trust the Tapai to handle it very well. They'll probably let local governments handle it in the future.

In the future they should not even BE THERE.

Yeah, the local governments were really emphatic that they shouldn't go in the red districts and they guess they understand why now.

These are some pissed off resentful red rioters here.
