And what *about* those remaining able worshippers of the secret third thing? What will they do?

"...Genevieve, I'm sure your people have been more up-to-date on the radios than I have, which is saying something.  Still, I can tell you something, even if I don't have the capacity to tell you more.  Even if I wouldn't and probably couldn't if I did.  Listen to 99.9's broadcast when it comes on tomorrow."

(Paladins, when not forbidden by their oaths, are the worst sorts of gossips, because they can't lie about it.  Or so Inquisitor Quirin always tells her, when she's kvetching about whatever the latest batch of soldiers rotating into the Worldwound's outer lines got up to this time.  She doesn't know much about the radios that have been making their way through her command - she hasn't had time to - let alone the technical specialists that did...something with a lightning-rod?  But she does know that the new rotation has been gossipping about the creator of the radio coming on the radio, soon, with inferences made and wild mass guesses.  She's told them she's not cleared to know, and neither are they, so they'd best be careful with their words - but she still knows more than she ought.)

(On the other hand, if anyone ought to know besides Lastwall, it is these people, who have been working tirelessly to build the things that could build civilization simply because it had been done and needed doing once again.)

(Watch-Commander Pallas walks many fine lines, to try and do the right thing.  And if this costs her?  It was still right.  She'll bear it.)

"...I'll keep that in mind.  And far away from the Chronicler, I presume."  Kalara Sunaph is already far too invested in the mysterious source of these things.

"May Fate only be so kind.  I don't want to give Vigil any more problems than they already have, and needing to deal with the mess she'd cause barreling after whatever so enthusiastically - it's right out."

Of course, their liaison to the largest organization of adventurers on Golarion - and what an oxymoron that is - is a curious sort all on her own initiative, but that hardly means that it doesn't mean something when the rumor comes from Diana's mouth, rather than the friend of a friend of a worker who complained about hauling a bulky privacy screen halfway through headquarters after they did all that work on it.

She knows how to keep a secret, though.  And she tunes in, right on cue.

"Good evening, Avistan. This is Freedom, reporting live from an undisclosed location probably somewhere inside Creation. If you tune over to 95.5, the Church of Abadar will certify that I have sworn to them this morning that to my knowledge no lie has ever been spoken on Freedom Radio. That was an easy thing to swear, as this is our first broadcast, but they're going to tell you every day when they last heard it from us. Freedom Radio is here to tell you the truth, whoever gets mad about it. That's why we're reporting live from an undisclosed location.

Now, some of our listeners are wizards in fancy towers, pulling out their crystal balls right now to try to learn who I am - good luck with that, wizards! But most of our listeners are ordinary folks, who saved up to buy or borrow a radio, or who went over to a neighbor who had one even though it's getting dark, because you wanted to hear how much grain's selling for near you, or whether there's storms coming. Maybe you know that on 97.7 there's dancing music, and maybe you know that on 97.9 there's sports, but you're not here for puzzles for wizards. What can the truth do for you?

Well, Freedom Radio's running because we think the truth can do very nearly everything. I can tell you what I'd do if my child was sick, and maybe it'll save yours. I can tell you if there's a war brewing, so you can hide what's precious to you when there are soldiers marching towards it. There are some things terribly wrong, in our world, and a world united can beat them into the dust, and a world that doesn't know what's true and what's a lie doesn't stand a chance. And I can tell you about the world to come, and line up some people who've been there who can tell you what you'll answer for when you face the Judge. There's a lot of things in this world that work because people are ignorant. And Freedom Radio is going to make sure that no one will ever be able to take advantage of your ignorance again.

So, welcome. It's an honor to have you listening.

And she is quite glad to do so.  It's already incredibly anthropologically interesting!

In time, we'll introduce a way for you to call in and talk back.

Like that bit!

...This isn't quite what she was given to expect, though she was hardly expecting descriptions of schematics.  But she is interested.

Especially because she doesn't know how this 'calling in' thing could be done in the non-magical way these radios work - yet.

And yet, this Chelish teenager knows it will be doable.

She expects it.

She sets a clockwork to start scribing copies of every word Radio Freedom broadcasts.  She transcribes the first episode herself.  Not because of the news items, but because of the correspondent.

After Radio Freedom stops broadcasting for the day, she allows herself to cry.  Not out of frustration or sorrow, but of joy.

Finally, someone believes in the mission and knows how to carry it out.

Abandonment Notice: I won't say it's impossible I'll ever pick this up again, but I don't think I'm going to recover the requisite zeal for the invention of civilization anytime soon.  Also, selfthreading entirely on my own is extra hell.  So given that everything sucks lately, I'm not going to keep trying.
