When Hyacinth comes home to her new apartment for the first time after a long day at university, it's to the sight of moving bots just finishing dropping off the last of her stuff and moving furniture into place. The full-immersion VR pod her parents gave her is safely hooked up in the pod room, her bed is in her bedroom, she has chairs and a desk and some bookshelves. Clothes are mostly still in boxes, waiting to be hung up in the closet. Holovid and a cozy chair occupy the living room. She doesn't have any food in the small kitchen yet.
Yep. That's the plan. Just keep spending time on making each other happy for as long as they like. Forever? No, do not try to make lifetime commitments to a girl you've known for two days. No matter how tempting it is. Do not.
She squeezes Hyacinth close and just keeps smiiiiiling happily.
She kisses Sin's forehead. "Not at all. Mind if we get everyone's shapes loaded into the shapeshifting for eventual future introduction sessions?"
Sable smiles warmly and pets Sin slowly and tenderly while gradually flicking through the shapeshifting setup interface, carefully locking in a shape for each headmate now that they have enough spare ability points to buy more slots. There are still a few alternate shapes people will want, her and Maya especially, but those can come later.
And Hyacinth loses herself in game statistics for a while. It's soothing. Gentle. Statistics don't change on you, not like people do. Not without a patch, anyway.
It's been a while since Tami smashed her face through an exploitable trick in the engine, so there are no patches right now.
And eventually the shapes are done and Sable just focuses on petting Sin tenderly. She presses a soft kiss atop her head, right between her floofy ears.
The statistics and the hairpetting all dance together, and Sin finds herself dropping off. It's hard to stay focused when she's this happy.
Sable's not particularly sleepy, it being early afternoon, but she's quite content to hold her girlfriend and pet her while she naps.
Sable spends the next hour or two idly messing about with ability design, for the most part.
Eventually, Hyacinth wakes up.
She looks around at the room and blinks the sleep from her eyes.
"... Sable," she croons after a moment, a smile coming to her face. "Sorry for drifting off on you. Um... What were we doing again?"
