I recently made contact with the human world that tries to do justice in these cases. I would like to see it done better, which involves making it surer that people who commit crimes answer for them but also making it surer that the punishment is not excessive and not disruptive to those pursuits of yours that don't involve harming other people.

Nothing you say to me will be used as evidence, but that is a very reasonable preference. I will accompany you while you arrange representation, unless you intend to do that by answering the summons for you.

You are not welcome in my home and not entitled to listen in on my interactions with counsel, and it may take me some time to find anyone with expertise in your legal system with an interest in representing me.

I am concerned that if I do not follow you around you might forget to be working on those arrangements, but I am happy to stay outside your home and not listen to your conversations.

Lots of conduct is permitted in order to serve an arrest warrant which is not otherwise permitted. I am not sure what purpose it serves for us to educate each other on our respective understandings of different legal systems. Would you prefer that we both remain here while you arrange for counsel? That is feasible.

Perhaps you could tell me who is an expert on legal proceedings which involve extradimensional enforcers? I was expecting them to be hard to come by.

I think it is typical to arrange a lawyer once you show up. I can recommend you some but it wouldn't be safe for them here, they're incarnates.

But if the selection of representation is inadequate in some way I will find myself already trapped and bound whether anyone eventually produces a lawyer or not.

That seems like a serious drawback to the human system. Do you have suggestions on how it could be modified to resolve that?

No one has decided to participate in a legal remediation process yet. One person raised a complaint which seemed legitimate to me, which is that once they accept the summons to engage with the justice system, if they then cannot find adequate counsel  - or, presumably, if they desire to call anyone in the daeva realms to testify - they are still trapped there under the binding. I was trying to think of a process that avoids this drawback.

I can suppress daeva abilities. I do not think Revelation would want them under those conditions but we could take them.

Yes, part of the problem is that the bindings that are reasonable for awaiting and preparing for trial are not necessarily the same ones as are ideal for long term sentencing but Revelation can't expect that a daeva dismissed for their sentencing binding would return. What if we had an area of our world where daeva abilities did not work and where they were constrained to remain, but could otherwise act freely, including reading at their leisure about our legal system, interviewing potential attorneys, and so on, and it was understood that they could opt out of the trial process and return home if they agreed to do so under a binding that prohibited taking summons, and nothing else...
