Hi! I like it when I can find liveblogs of my stuff without having to stay on top of all the reactions to every glowfic. I've been told I write good culture clash that fully captures the experience of not knowing what the fuck is going on or why anyone is acting the way they're acting. I have not received praise for my ability to write it in such a way that the reader does not share in that experience. (Yet! Growth mindset.) Most of my stories are, at least on some level, about finding joy in the face of hardship or suffering.

Threads of mine to try if you like drama:
do you recall when the war was just a game? (No prerequisites among my threads; would probably benefit from having read Silmaril but might make sense without it. Deals with torture, murder, suicide, values dissonance. This is the story of a spacefaring multiversal civilization meeting a dysfunctional bronze age kingdom. If you like do you recall when the war was just a game? you might also like its mutually exclusive noncanonical sequel options: you can say goodbye, you can say hello; though its color brightly shines; and the omnipotent moral busybodies continuity.)
Threads of mine to try if you like chill slice of life:
the entire Sunstone continuity is a little old and I would do some things differently now, but I still like it and still recommend it if you like the kind of thing it's about, which not everyone will. (No prerequisites outside the continuity. Deals with slavery, child abuse, mind control, religion, and apocalyptic levels of death; these things mostly come up in backstory, while what actually happens onscreen is mostly that characters fix things or have relationships. This is a story about values dissonance, coming to reflective equilibrium, making connections with other people, and embarrassing yourself because you had no idea nowhere else in the entire multiverse has your home world's sexual mores.)
if i went to touch you now (Prerequisites: Amenta, ideally the in color timeline. For extra credit, Amentablr and the specific chameleonlife ask it takes off from. Amenta-typical content warnings exist in the background, but the story itself mostly contains scenes like getting a haircut and visiting an open-air market for the first time.)
against our herculean task we’ve risen to proclaim (No prerequisites. This story has vastly more torture and maiming, not to mention more plot, than "slice of life" usually implies. Nonetheless, although it’s the story of the logistics behind multiple attempts to escape a pocket universe that feeds on its inhabitants' pain, this thread contains substantial sections where people celebrate holidays, study color theory, play board games, and generally have surprisingly nice lives for people trapped in a torture dimension. It’s an exploration of theodicy, though it isn’t really religious.)
Threads of mine to try if you like hurt/comfort:
i see the stars, i hear the rolling thunder (Prerequisites: Silmaril would probably help but might not be necessary. Deals with moral injury, torture, gaslighting-adjacent things, yeerks, and religion. Someone escapes Hell and goes to Vanda Nossëo.)
Threads of mine to try if you like it when fictional people have a bad time:
a kingdom that none of my efforts will ever make mine (Prerequisites: might make more sense if you're at all familiar with Nidal from the Golarion setting for Pathfinder. In lieu of content warnings I'm going to suggest that you make sure you know what Nidal is. This thread has been described as an uplifting story about the resilience of the human spirit. It's the darkest thing I can imagine describing that way.)
and he tells me i am his own (Prerequisites: Animorphs. Deals with the same things as i see the stars, i hear the rolling thunder, but there's more hurt and less comfort. Someone escapes Hell and gets captured by the Yeerk Empire.)
Threads of mine to try if you like really short works that you can be done with quickly:
in leaves and silver fleur-de-lys (Prerequisites: none, though it might help to be familiar with the Teru and Val templates. Deals with political intrigue, murder, incest, marital rape, mind control.)
