"Not very much? There's some fossils that'd be neat to dig up if I had the first idea about how to do that, I guess. And caves, we've got some good caves."

"Oh, yeah, fossils would be cool. I have no idea how to do that either, though."

"We could figure it out, if you're here long enough. Might make a good base for some kinda art."

Nod nod.

"I love this weird desert art house."

"And you haven't even seen a sunset yet."

"...oh, I'm so ready for that."

"Not too much longer. It's my favorite time of day; I suppose that's pretty obvious."

"Looking forward to it. If it's cooled down some maybe we could eat out there."

"Sure, we could. Daisy, join us on the roof?"

"Sure." She sounds pleased. (Burgers go in the oven; she joins them at the table.)

Aw, yes. He loves sitting on top of buildings. People are generally not supposed to be up there and that is an excellent motivation for him to go up there anyway.

He looks over at Nine.

"Gonna come up too?"

"You should, for your first sunset. Dusk doesn't invite people up very often."

"All right."

"'Two robots and two humans are sitting on a roof' sounds like a setup for a bad joke."

Daisy chuckles.

He looks between Daisy and Nine.

"What's your guys' story, anyway?"

"He's, ah, been there for a couple years now," she glances at Dusk. "And I'd already heard rumors that Mr. Torrarmi wasn't wiping his droids, so I stopped by to say hi - it isn't great for us to grow up isolated. And then it turned out we got along."

"...good thing you guys found each other."

He looks quizzically at Dusk.

"- wouldn't've been a very good idea for her to bring him home, a couple years ago."

"Or, it would, but we didn't know that yet. You were doing the best you could."

"Yeah." She reaches for Daisy's hand, and Daisy takes hers and squeezes it.

He's uncertain. He wants to know what's going on, and to say something that helps if he can, but he also feels like he's interrupting something that's not really for him to see.

"-sorry, I'm not really used to having guests yet. I only really got a handle on, ah, not hurting people when I didn't really mean to, a couple years ago. And it took us a while to be sure - if we had known we could've just gotten him then."

"It was a hard problem." Handsqueeze.

He nods.

"...it must have been pretty lonely."
