Seeing brightness in Blaze's cheeks and a look of actual contentment on her face brings those pricks of joy back to Azry's eyes.

"She looks so much healthier," Alistair whispers to her. Azry nods, a wobbly, ecstatic smile on her face.

"Zevran mentioned he was training you in duel wielding?" Leliana says by way of greeting, dropping next to Blaze.

She flinches slightly, but it's far more reflexive than actual fear - a long ingrained habit that's going to take longer than a few weeks to erase.

She nods.

"I would've thought archery would be better. You already fight at range, no?"

"Leli, you also know how to fight hand-to-hand. We're teaching her in case she can't use her magic."

Leliana pouts. "But I am not as good as it as you or Zevran. What if I want to teach Blaze a skill?"

"What about singing? Or lute?"

Alistair chimes in. "Or shoe appreciation?"

Blaze looks down at her feet, scrunches her toes. "Shoes are. Uncomfortable."

Leliana's gasp is horrified. "Only because you've only ever seen these lumpy, Fereldan tragedies! The shoes we have in Orlais, oh, you would love them!"

"-perhaps," she agrees, twists her fingers together. "I- might like. To learn- something?" (She likes learning, she always has.)

"What would you like us to teach you? Zevran, Sten and I can help with swordplay, Morrigan and Wynne can help you with magic, Alistair could teach you to cook?"

Alistair snorts. "Badly. I can teach you to cook badly. But with enthusiasm!"

"Do you like music?" Leliana asks, shuffling closer.

The idea of learning more magic gets a momentary look of eagerness before she tamps down on it. She tilts her head at Leliana. "I- haven't heard much," she admits. "I- but what I heard- I- think I liked?"

The look of glee is not lost on Leliana. She shares a look with Azry. Magic lessons were something they should've thought about before, but things do fall by the wayside mid-Blight.

"Wait here, I'll be right back." Leliana melts into the dark, heading for her tent. She's back in seconds, cradling a lute. "I'll play you something while you eat, and then maybe I can teach you?"

"I- I'd like that?" she admits.

"Excellent." With that, Leliana arranges herself, props up the lute and begins to play. A soft song, a ballad.

There are lyrics too, but in Orlesian. Leliana doesn't know the King's tongue version, but she figures things that are pretty don't have to be understood.

Blaze listens, hums along absently as she finishes her meal.

Azry has curled up, half-dozing on Alistair's shoulder.

Leliana finishes the song, and offers Blaze a demure smile. "What did you think?"

"S'pretty. I- could never-"

"But you can! Here-" Leliana takes the bowl from Blaze, throwing it easily into the empty stew pot. She then tucks the lute into Blaze's lap, helping her arrange her hands.

Blaze is slightly startled, but let's Leliana help her arrange her hands, slightly eager now.

"First chord is here..." Leliana arranges her hands, has her play. Does the same for the next following notes, and then has Blaze play them in succession.

She makes a few mistakes, but she shows as much focus with this as she has with learning how to fight.
