Ira pushes the door into the room open, and heads inside on near-silent feet.

There's faint light coming from what is probably the door into the bathroom, giving them enough light to find their way by. The two beds are pushed against the opposite walls, leaving four or five feet of space between them.

The bed to the right is inhabited by another teen, who seems to be sound asleep.

Shin picks a laptop up from the desk. "Trade," he whispers, nodding to the bag DZ is carrying, holding out the laptop.

She makes the trade readily, but doesn't seem to know what to do with the laptop.

Deskyl, meanwhile, gravitates immediately to the empty bed, and falls asleep just as quickly.

Shin puts the bag down where the laptop was. "Here," he says quietly. "I'll show you."

And he demonstrates booting the computer, and how to access the browser and the search engine.

Ira meanwhile, settles down on the bed beside Ant, back propped against the headboard, legs stretched out along the edge of the bed. Ant snuggles into him as soon as he's settled, still obviously asleep.

He doesn't seem inclined to try to sleep.

It takes a couple tries, but DZ gets Shin to find her a dictionary site, and she settles in to read it; it will keep her occupied for a while.

Shin leaves her in peace, stretches out on Ant's other side, flings an arm over both Ant and Ira's legs, and apparently goes to sleep. (The three of them obviously have experience sharing a bed that, by rights, they shouldn't all fit on.)

Ira is definitely not sleeping, watching DZ and Deskyl through slitted eyes, and making no effort to hide what he's doing.

When DZ's done with the dictionary, she leaves the laptop and goes over to sit on the floor by the bed, as close as she can get without upsetting Ira.

"Do you have any questions for me?" she asks, very quietly.

"You're not from this dimension," he says slowly, "and if you're not lying about her being human, you're not from any of the other dimensions I know about. So. Can you tell me where you're actually from?"

"The planet we were on is called Jaonus. I don't know if it's in a different universe or just a different galaxy, or a different part of the galaxy. Deskyl teleported us, and Sith can't usually teleport - they can do extra things when they're very upset, sometimes. But I don't know how it worked, because I've never seen it before. I can ask her when she wakes up, but she might not know either."

Ira hums noncommittally. "Is she gonna be a threat?"

"Only if there's a reason for it."

"I'll behave if she does." (It's trite and trying to hide his concern that he can't take Deskyl in a fight.)

"I don't think she's going to threaten you, unless there's something important that she doesn't know. But she's very calm, for a Sith, and you've helped us; I think she'll help you."

"We don't need any help." And that's far more defensive than true. Pauses, goes over the sentence. "If I'm not telling her something, I've probably got good reason. But if she asks, I'll try to answer."

She nods.

"Is there anything else you want to know? Or anything that we should know?"

"Ant's probably gonna have a million and one questions for you," he warns, smiling fondly down at Ant. "And there's like, vampires, and demons. Going out after dark here isn't super risky, but it's worth knowing they exist. Did you have any questions?"

"Is magic a secret here?"

"By and large: yes. So are the vampires and demons. Also: we don't have robots. Not like you."

She nods. "It's not secret where we were before; the Sith run the empire there. Not Deskyl, though, Deskyl's an engineer - low rank, but she's very good at it."

"Our technology might be very different from what she's used to."

"Yes, probably. But you have electricity, and she invents things, she'll probably be okay. She needs to recover first, though. She was hurt with magic a few months ago, very badly."
