Stephen nods at Felix, but turns his attention towards the Starr twins. "It's nice meeting you two," smiling quite sincerely, offering a hand to shake, but turning that into a half hug.

"You too," he says quietly, eyes widening a bit at the half-hug.

Jamie touches Alex' shoulder, smiling at Temple's dad, "Pretty sure no one told us your name?" He says. 

"Oh, Stephen Grayward. How are you two doing? I imagine the situation was quite a shock."

"A bit, yeah!" He laughs. "I think we're handling it ok? Considering how surprising it was to get 'more magic' and 'actually you do have family' dropped on our laps all at once out of nowhere." 

Stephen nods. "We will try our best to make everything comfortable and smooth for you two. Shall we get going? My boys are waiting for you," he looks James up and down, "and Morgan will be annoyed if it took too long to feed you."

He shrugs, "Sure - and I'm not going to object to more feeding," he says. 

Alex appreciates these priorities.

Where are they going from here, then?

"Home. It's just a short drive. Felix is also coming?"

"If it isn't imposing too much. And I should leave tomorrow. Specially if it turns out that Henry and Gabe will swing by."

"You entirely welcome!"

Car?

Car it is. 

"Gabe and Henry?" 

"Henry is a distant relative that we found like you two."

They get in the car. Temple takes the passenger seat next to his father. "I am pretty sure we mentioned Henry. Maybe not by name? I am not sure we mentioned Gabe. But they are cousins, Gabe is related to the other side of Henry's family, not ours."

"And they are joined at the hip. They feel that the word 'boyfriend' is not a correct descriptor, but they are involved."

(They'll get in the back, then.)

They share a glance. 

...Twins is different than cousins. Alex shakes his head minutely. 

"Cool. They don't live nearby?"

"A few hours away, but in Elsewhere. We are co-apprentices, actually, and we share shifts and need to coordinate who is away at what time."

"It was how I met Felix." Temple says turning on his seat to grin at Felix. "I swung by to introduce myself and the family business to Henry."

"They are technically working under Henry and Gabe's grand-aunt. But the woman is pretty hopeless with regarding magic. So she has five apprentices that do all her work and goes around doing tarot readings to people." Stephen's tone is clearly disapproving, but also oddly amused at sharing the fact.

"Huh. So the other two apprentices would have to take over everything while you were gone?" He asks. "What kind of duties do you have?"

"Yeah. We are, like, employed and and everything. Our duties: Magical infrastructure upkeep. Using straightforward medical spells to help people - though our town does have a doctor - generally helping with problems that need magic to be solved. Oh, I guess dealing with magical criminals. And also making the day rise and the night fall.

"Basically interns."

"So you just learn on your own?"
