"How did she get the license to do this," Alex wonders. "Not that that doesn't sound convenient for everyone involved," he adds.

"Her town is near a hazardous magical zone. They would've taken anyone. Though, she might be technically capable, just not willing."

"I would say that fits what I have seen of her, but it is actually bad enough that I haven't."

"How is it hazardous?"

"You can't recover lifeforce other than your breath there. It gets you progressively more tired from, say, just standing and if you sleep you don't wake up. You call it the dead city because it causes stone buildings to grow from the ground and Elsewhere's fake stars fall. Even just looking at the thing is very uncomfortable."

"Property prices got really low there. My drivers hate going nearby. I think Felix's boyfriend is largely responsible for the town to still have access to modern products. Also, we are just arriving at our property."

Stephen says this while turning and getting the car through a remote controlled gate.

"Dead Zones? Are those common?"

Jamie nudges him, "We're here, we can ask more questions later."

They'll climb out of the car once they pull to a stop, looking around curiously.

It's a fairly large nice looking house. Modern in straight angles and juxtaposed shapes. It's on a hill, and they just need to climb a short set of stairs to it. Stephen hurries them up.

The door opens and out goes a young man who immediately rushes to help with their luggage. "Hey, there."

"James, Alexei. This is Aaron. My brother."

"Hey! Nice to meet you," Jamie greets Aaron. They actually only have the three bags, but he's welcome to take the third one while they take one each, if he wants.

"I prefer Alex," he adds, handing that bag over. Inside?

Inside. The interior is nicely decorated with a combination of eclectic art and family pictures. With various people around the living room.

Stephen looks between the two new arrivals and the rest of the room. "Alright, people let's make this efficient and try not make our guests overwhelmed."

That last sentence is said while Stephen gives a specific guy a look. Said guy is staring at James.

"How about if everyone takes a turn to introduce themselves?" Stephen offers. "Or we can get you two, settled first?"

"We can do introductions now," Alex says, shrugging. He glances over at Jamie.

Jamie is shifting a little uncomfortably under that gaze! Everyone's been loudly questioning his life choices lately. Even if they're right to, it wears on a person.

"Uh, sure," he agrees, "Introductions, then settling in? We can just leave our bags here while we do that..."

(Bags are left by the door)

"Alright, let's go around the room. It's okay if you don't remember the names later."

They take a couple steps to the nearest couch. Where the people stand up to greet them. "This is my twin brother and his boyfriend. Topher and Sawney. Welcome them to our twins club."

Snort. "Welcome," He who is presumably Topher - or at least looks more related than the guy next to him.

"Welcome."

"Hey!" Handshake? Hug?

More twins, huh. Non-identical, though. Not that he and Alex actually look that much alike, but that's mostly cosmetic and an effect of Jamie's gift use. Also, wow, everyone they've met so far in this family has been attractive. Must be in the genes.

"Jamie, and my twin Alex." Alex nods. "Do members of the twins club get benefits around here or is it just for bragging rights?"

"Can't discuss them in front of the non-twins."

"Of course not. Let me know if you guys need anything or things are overwhelming."
