"… Then I assume the magic doesn't make them bulletproof."

"Finding-proof only."

"And this doesn't conveniently apply to the vision of people who might shoot at them?"

"It does not."

(The others have mostly fallen silent now that Anthony's speaking.)

"… So do we have some sort of game plan following forward from here, adapted for what happened?"

"Yes, but for now the plan is for you to find your accommodations and rest."

… He nods and squeezes Dayo's hand.

"Life will not be easy," she says. "Make no mistake, we are not at peace, here. We are resistance, and every one of you is a resource. There is a reason he hoards you—so you will not pose him a threat. Because you are the only ones who can threaten him."

Everyone's silent, now.

Anthony does not like how scary this woman is but he supposes it is good to have someone in charge who actually seems like they know how to be in charge.

"You will follow the people near the doors. You may choose, with some restrictions, where you will sleep, and any conflicts will be resolved by us with no recourse. Any questions?"

"I assume the restrictions are clear somehow?"

"Yes."

What an idiotic question. He bites his lip, to give him something to focus on – other than what he's screwing up.

Can they get going?

Well, she seems to be going, so presumably.

The others start getting up, in a bit of a daze, and the guards near the doors open them.

Anthony tries not to look too shell-shocked.

"I wonder what the restrictions are."

"Rooms that are already taken?" he suggests, as they're herded through the doors. "—do you wanna room with me?"

"I – wasn't sure whether to suggest it."

"Well I'm suggesting it."

"Uh – yeah? … I probably have not thought about it in much detail."

"Not sure you have a whole lotta time to think in," he says as they're led through hallways.

"I – can't think why not? Why not room together, I mean."

"Because you might detest rooming with me, or something, or just prefer having your own room."

"The former I doubt, the 'something' is what I was trying to figure out, the latter I don't think is a problem."

"Good, I guess?"

"Good," he agrees, a little subduedly.
