They think it's way too cold up here, but the captain has some sort of vague treasure hunt. Some of them are thinking of leaving and going home. They don't seem very hierarchical by nature.

When night comes, they get together and drink on deck, but Bys would rather go cuddle in one of their tiny cabins.

She would love to cuddle rather than drink. That is just completely obvious.

Bys seems subdued and doesn't do much more than kiss a bit at first.

That's alright by her.

"Tired from your day?"

"They're very gossipy aren't they. Wanting to hear all about my village and stuff." Siiigh. Nuzzle.

"Yeah. I've had practice with that sort of thing, the trick is to give them a good story with enough of the truth in it to be plausible. Doesn't always work, but..."

"I think it must be a species preference. Literally never seen a bunch of people so gossipy before."

"Maybe, or maybe they're just all bored to death from being stuck aboard ship for so long."

"I guess so."

Snugglekiss.

Kiss.

"At least we have each other."

Mmmhm. Kiss kiss.

Kiss lower?

That would be lovely.

She rakes a hand through Bys' hair.

She is attentive in her lower kisses.

"If you were looking forward to having... A complete picture of me..." Smile.

"I'm delighted to have any and all of you you're willing to share." Kiss.

In that case, she can have Bys's... Inner configuration. And she's delighted to reciprocate.

Ooh, lovely.

They can take some time for each other. That's important. And mutually satisfying, she hopes.

Bys seems much more relaxed. Eventually she leaves and goes to her own cabin.

Thorn chills, and eventually sleeps.

They're sailing down the river by the time she wakes up. Abyssia is sitting in the rigging along with two others, looking over the tree-laden landscape as dawn breaks. Nothing much happens on the first day of the journey.

Thorn lets the crew know she can be called upon to mend broken nonmagical things, explores the ship a little, shares in some gossip. It's not the most thrilling voyage she's been on, but boring is good.

She's asked to mend things fairly often! That's handy. They can catch up on maintenance like this.

The Captain invites her to a nice lunch and rambles about the ship and his origins far to the south. Sea shanties are sung.

They stop at a small village at the mouth of the river for a couple of hours, unloading some barrels and picking up others. Not the same village she first arrived at. And then it's off to open sea.

She casts Make Whole a lot. Better to have something to do...

She listens carefully to the captain's stories of home, since they're headed that direction more or less. And again, it's more about this new world.

The open sea is claustrophobic. She retreats to her cabin and practices her TK in private.

On the third day of the journey (out of four), second day on the open sea, there's a sudden shrill whistle from the lookout and then everyone is kind of scrambling all over the ship!

Thorn makes her way abovedecks and looks to the ship's officers and captain.

The captain is ordering full sail and course changes! He seems rather too busy to talk. There are shouts of 'pirates'.
