"It's the word for the thing crickets do, where you make a sound by rubbing ridged surfaces together in a particular way."

Kareen gently places a hand on Bella's shoulder, briefly, and then--

It's not that Bella can't still see the shadow under the agglo tank, or anything. The shadow is there, things are darker under it. It's just that the level of darkness that under-the-agglo-tank is, isn't any kind of obstruction to her vision, anymore. 

"Tentatively positive! Can I try an all dark room?"

"Sure." 

The light goes out.

(It isn't absolutely lightless--one of the googly eyes on Eli is glow in the dark--but it's close enough for most purposes.)

Bella can still see fine.

"Keen."

"I like it too!"

With that settled Bella will take almost everything on the list!

If she’s taking the pocket dimension one Kareen would like to load her up on mana first, to see if her handling capacity increases, For Science.

Can't scare her. Shlorp.

And Kareen boops her shoulder again, and now there are two Bellas.

"That's gonna take some getting used to. Can I have, like. A lot of books. I'm going to run out of homework."

"I don't know if your pocket dimension works exactly the same way as mine, but if you have, like, library shelves, and this works remotely similarly, you should be able to sort of--center yourself, reach outside your body, and propriocept to the rest of the pocket dimension, and grab books out of the void. ...Pretty sure it's out of the void."

It's an incredibly weird sensory modality, it might take her a bit to figure it out. And it's really less grabbing and more extending an invitation. But the things Kareen described are, in fact, there.

Books!

There are a lot of them--many of them in languages she doesn't speak, or on topics she doesn't care about--but she has a lot of bookshelves, and plenty of them are of interest to her. 

"Ohhhh I'm gonna have such a time filling this place up. - my chair has a pen on it!"

"Oh, cool! Does your pocket dimension look much like mine--"

"Mostly pretty similar - give me a camera?"

"I might want to like, paint, in here, once I'm incredibly ahead on all my academics and have read a book or two solely for entertainment instead of by wrangling my way into all the good literature courses. Also I might ask you for furniture."
