"I admit it's a silly idea, but...Presumably the mistakes are there so that it's obvious someone plagiarized them, right? Little stylized flowers or something could do the same thing, if you hid them somewhere people would only spot them if they knew where to look, but they wouldn't make the map wrong..."

"I think flowers that were disguised as terrain features would make the map wrong and flowers that weren't disguised wouldn't come through in an attempt at copying?"

"I was thinking of something small enough that it's not obvious unless you look really closely, but that wouldn't help if someone takes a picture or hand-copies the map... Realistically, though, if I were doing mapmaking full-time I'd just do the sort of work where plagiarism isn't really a thing, like commissioned work for governments or public domain stuff."

"I think hand-copying is the issue, you wouldn't need deliberate errors to make it obvious someone used a Xerox."

"Mhm. Are you excited for anything in particular?"

"Honestly? I think if I were prettied up enough I could stop a kaiju. But you'd have to cure my balance disorder before it made sense to get me near one."

"And you'd want to stop kaijus, if that were an option? What about other combat roles?"

"I think anything else I could do would be strictly less effective. If I get one stopped a nonmagical gunner can kill it."

"I bet the Paladins would love you. If you were cured, would you in fact join the Paladins? What if they had a girl who could, say, put you in a protective bubble?"

"I would at least look into the Paladins. I do get noticeably less appealing to the magic when I've fallen, I'm not sure the bubble would help with that."

Nora thinks about that for a moment, then sputters with laughter. "Well now I'm picturing...hold on a minute." She bites her lip, concentrating, and a scroll appears in her hand. Not long after, she turns it around to show it off. It's a painting of Isabella sitting on an extravagant throne in the middle of the sky, surrounded by a spherical golden halo and gesturing imperiously down at a blob of darkness. (She's somehow managed to make the kaiju look a bit like it's cringing.)

"...that's glorious. I gotta send it to my brother." She snaps a picture of the scroll.

Tee-hee.

"It'd take a specific support power, but in theory you and, like, one or two other girls could do the work of a whole squad...still risky though, being terrible at dodging if something goes wrong."

"Yeah. I can fly, you saw me, but I don't think my neurology's comparative mercy in the air would extent to letting me be a really high quality aerialist. Maybe I should check that at some point, spend some time with a coach."

"Seems worth trying! Does your internship schedule have anything in that vein?"

"Don't think so..." She checks.

It does not.

"Yeah, no, they did not schedule me anything like it. I guess I could see if they'll shuffle things."

"Maybe! They've been decently flexible with my plans so far. You might have to work them up to supplying a throne, though."

"I'll tell Xander to make me one out of two by fours and paste."

"But then it would be insufficiently glamorous! You must have a proper throne, suitable for your august personage. For kaiju-stopping, of course."

"When I'm in it I can drape it in something really lush."

"You could usher in a new era of combat furniture!"

"We just haven't tried putting paladins on chaise lounges. It'll be revolutionary."

Nora takes this as a prompt to materialize a drawing of several magical girls reclining majestically atop glorious airborne combat sofas. The sofas themselves are winged, because why not.
