"I like the Fragrancy Garden but only in smallish doses."

"Is it just full of flowers that smell nice?"

"It's full of flowers that smell nice magicked to have stronger scents."

"Gosh. We might faint or something."

"Mostly it's for people with an impaired sense of smell, like, anyone can go there, but that's the reason."

"Is that common for some reason?"

"I don't know how common is common but it's a thing--so, when you awaken as a witch, this is generally overall a good thing, but it can come with downsides. Exactly what is and isn't a downside is a matter of personal opinion, of course, but there's a particular category of thing that we call complications, and one complication is that some sense can end up seriously dulled or enhanced."

"I have enhanced hearing," Johann says, turning his head and tapping his ear to display the blue earplug in it. "It's--uncomfortable, in many circumstances, without compensation."

"Losing his legs was a complication too, and it means he can't shapeshift 'em back on." 

He takes her hand and kisses it. "But getting around in a wheelchair is fine, and if it's not, I have plenty of options for quality prosthetics."

"...huh. We can do temporary enhanced senses with potions but it's not normal to just have them like that all the time."

"Any given complication isn't overwhelmingly common but most people have some. And some of 'em are weird, like, I have an extra nipple on my back."

"That doesn't sound too inconvenient."

"They aren't all. But there are some nasty ones, like the one that prevents you from using any magic ranked higher than zero."

"That does sound annoying, yes."

"I take my wheelchair and earplugs and am grateful."

"I wonder if you can learn our spells... probably not worth trying till we have a better infohazard assessment."

"I'm coming down off the adrenaline and might want to just... crash," says Aadhya, after swallowing another mouthful of cheese.

"Right, you guys have as far as I'm aware not allocated sleeping arrangements yet but I'm going to look for spare bedding for whoever takes the floor." She stands up and vanishes into the room she earlier indicated as Johann's. 

For the time being at least Aadhya takes the bed and casts a few spells around herself and naps.

Eliza does not discover a sleeping bag, but does come up with a couple of spare pillows and some blankets, which she lays out on the other side of the living room from the couch. 

The door opens. 

This girl is more blatantly a catgirl than Eliza--she's wearing pants, which have a hole for her striped tail to poke through, in addition to her white cat ears. 

"Hey. I thought there were three interplanar visitors?"

"Our artificer needed a nap."

"Oh. Yeah, fair. Hi, I'm Chǔ Lísāo."
