"We could use all the help we can get. When will you be ready to leave?"

"By tomorrow."

"Do you need help?"

"I think I can handle it."

"I look forward to our partnership."

"Yeah! This is gonna be fun. I can tell already."

Oh good. She's enthusiastic.

"Great! So, Elatra, let's go get some supplies together, and then we can meet back here tomorrow."

Nod.

"May Duathal clear your path."

"Yeah, that. Bye!"

The two take their leave.

"See, I told you it'd be fine."

"We didn't die. I suppose that's something."

"That's the spirit!"

"I haven't worked with a tiefling before."

"She seems nice, as part-demons go."

"She seems interested in the waystaff. What if she betrays us?"

"If she does it before the quest is finished, she's not gonna get it. If she does it after, Duathal's gonna be, like, right there."

"I think you're underestimating her power or her malice"

"If she can give a god a serious fight, we're already in trouble. We can watch her, sure. All I'm saying is, if she's not going to betray us, let's not provoke her."

"Of course. I won't act first."

"Here's to a successful quest, then."

As the sky grows brighter, people begin to retreat to homes and taverns. The noise of the city fades.

Until the next wave arrives. Those who walk Sigil during the day are different than those who walk at night. They are less careful, touching casually and paying little attention to those around them.
