They appear inside Tencednil's home, next to the hammocks.

Gallipsiwhoop climbs inside something invisible on Issac's back.

Can you lead me to the cult? I think it would be best to strike fast. Hopefully we can catch them before they start spreading the disease.

I can directly, but in that case I will miss the guards calling me in for the same investigation. Alternatively I can provide you with directions, or I suppose I will find myself in the area soon on the guard investigation and you could follow me there. That seems foolish but it is an option.

Also, that was definitely Gallipsiwhoop casting, not Morgethai (or Isaac). Interesting, especially in context of Morgethai saying she could cast a two-day Mind Blank with Gallipsiwhoop's aid. And given where they landed, Mother will soon know she is interacting with a Teleport-capable wizard. She can plan around that.

Directions are fine. I would rather those guards you spoke of not perish fighting wererats without silver. I suspect I will be finished with the cult before your investigation reaches their temple.

It does seem likely. Leave as much as you feel necessary. Possibly ensure the plague's source is obvious if it occurs, I expect the cure will be easier to derive with their notes.

She gives Morgethai directions on her own way to the bank. The nice thing about a Telepathic Bond is that you can keep communicating from long distances.

It is indeed very useful! He really wants a version that works across planes but as far as he knows nobody has ever managed to invent one.

Tencednil has one letter waiting for her at the Bank. It's from the Korvosan Guard. An investigation has been opened into Old Korvosa's sewers. She's listed as a volunteer on their list. Her presence is requested at Citadel Volshyenek.

As it should be. The actual investigation won't be necessary if Morgethai is handling the cult, but she can still be impressive to Navarro. (And maybe Navarro won't die this time? She has no idea what was with the person who attacked them two loops ago, but it might have been connected to the cult.)

To the Citadel! (As she remembers things about the cult's base, she passes them along to Morgethai. None of this should be necessary, but their goals align here. Morgethai knowing more about the cult will only be to her benefit.)

The headquarters of the Guard is as she remembers it. The receptionist greets her and leads her—

I have found the warehouse you described at the address you gave me. I will breach it momentarily.

As of tomorrow the first floor would be empty, leading only to an elevator down to the basement where the cult gathers. That may not yet be the case.

Navarro! It's been a while since she saw him. She introduces herself happily.

Navarro introduces himself and asks her the same round of basic questions as last time. Then he slides a piece of paper across the desk. It's an oath of confidentiality covering this investigation.

I've teleported down into the room with the vats. It's as nasty as you described it. An alarm triggered but they can't perceive me.

They took about twenty seconds to all arrive with all the guards present, but that might be different without any detectible reason for the alarm. Is the door to the sewers open? They might think it was just an animal, especially if you make an illusion of one.

Her personal information is pretty much the same as last time, obviously. She's second circle ("only just new, I haven't used the spells very much, but I have one spell which looks like Burst of Radiance and one that I think is normal Invisibility. Do you know if wizards get Burst of Radiance like clerics do? Sorcerers are probably like wizards, and I don't want to accidentally hurt someone because mine works differently..."), and other than that she's unchanged. She reads over and signs the oath without trouble.

Navarro files the oath away. "Welcome aboard, Tencednil. I do not know burst of radiance to be a wizard spell. Try to avoid including our men within its area until you confirm it works like the cleric version. We've located what we believe to be a secret Urgathoan cult. They're operating out of a warehouse in Old Korvosa. Near the middle of Bridgefront, specifically. Our intelligence suggests their complex extends underground into the sewers, but we don't have a specific location. My objective in this investigation is to discover the Urgathoan cult's back door. We'll be descending quite deep into the sewers as part of our search. Are you still ready and willing?"

I've attracted their attention. They're swarming the room. Perfect.

"I'll try to avoid everyone with it then. That was probably a good idea anyway, being blinded is bad. I am ready to search for an Urgathoan cult! That sounds definitely important."

Navarro smiles. "Good!"

He leads her out of his office and down the hall. "For as long as we're down there, I am your commanding officer. If I am ever indisposed, Garril will assume command. You will meet him soon. We also have a cleric named Shadi. The Pharasmins are quite upset about Urgathoa returning to the city."

Twelve of the fourteen cultists are slain. The wizard is restrained. The cleric and daemon have not yet appeared.

If the fourteen cultists are all in the same room, they may not have broken the daemon out. In that case it would be still trapped in a glass cylinder in the room through one of the doors. The cleric was slow to arrive, she might take some time.

"I would also be upset about Urgathoa coming to Korvosa! It seems like a bad thing even for people besides Pharasmins." She follows along behind him.

The planning room is very much like she remembers. There's a large rectangular table, covered in documentation and paper and maps. Two people are already seated.

A tall man wearing metal breastplate and a helmet looks over as they enter. "Detective."

"Garril, Shadi, this is Tencednil. Sorcerer and illusionist. She'll be working with us today."

He nods. "Good to meet you."
