"Yeah, she is.  I spent most of my time talking to her but it was - I guess we can't see him from here, that guy over there - who told me sort of the basic facts about this place."

"Does that guy over there seem like the coincidence engine's doing at all or, uh, just a guy over there."

"I truly don't know.  Kennedy hasn't been pointed at him yet."

Kennedy leans out of the booth to look.

...Wave?

"I certainly don't know him just by looking, Mr. Doucet."

He goes back to his book.

"I don't know that Kennedy's astrological predictions are the only coincidence engine thing, certainly the door seems unrelated and me and mini-me match in a more, uh, conventionally sci-fi fashion, too."

"Yeah, that's just kind of the most obvious thing that hadn't been checked.  His name's Beau; he didn't seem obviously familiar in any way to me."

"I can tell you're unbacklashed, are you also un-mundanely-freaked-out enough that I can go inventory who-all else is in here?"

"...Yeah, I think so.  Don't, y'know, I would appreciate it if you didn't leave the room.  I can sit here and watch the stars fine."

"The stars?"

Elder Haru points out the window. "Stars. Exploding."

"Ummm.  I am used to stars having ten sides.  Are their people okay?  Who are they??"

"...in my universe, stars only have people in the fashion where the planets orbiting them, such as the one your Haru lives on, may have people on them. And they're spherical. The stars, though the planets are too. And sometimes they explode, though not normally this often."

"Ummm.  Over my Earth, which is not spherical, they are physical representations of dead souls."

"Good to know! - man, I kind of wish Cricket were here, he'd get a kick out of mini-me."

"Obviously you're Traceless," announces the smol Haru. "I'm going to be Mimoto. - does that work through the translation thing this place is doing? Bar says it's doing a translation thing."

"I heard a three syllable Japanese word that I don't know because I never lived in Japan - did Ren get that job with the Tokyo school? Mine applied, and to one in Paris too, but it didn't go anywhere..."

"Well, that's fine because I'm using it as a name but it does also mean something on top of sounding not nothing like 'mini-me' since that's what you were calling me, it means -" He reads the dictionary entry he's found in what Bar gave him. "One's identity, upbringing, or character. But also -moto is a normal name ending. For example the school my Ren is going to start at is called Shimamoto though that's a last name, it does also appear in first names sometimes."

"Nice to meet you, Mimoto."

"I would prefer if I could find out whether I can go home from here before anyone spends a long time holding the door again, Mr. Swan."

"We just established that I'm Traceless. It's my esper codename," Haru tells her.

"Bar says you might be able to but she is not sure because you were able to hold the door for me," says Mimoto. "You could try it."

"I will, if nobody thinks there's a way that could go wrong somehow."
