She tries to listen patiently but she does start tearing up a little, midway through.  So she has to hide her face behind her hair again.

Nothing bad immediately happens, which, while obviously preferable to suddenly having a horrible medical problem, makes her feel like she's been having obvious strong emotions that were based in something completely trivial, which everyone around her had tried to tell her was completely trivial.  So she starts crying properly and - is Swan-san available for a hug?  Is the appointment pretty much over?  Kennedy would really like a hug, now.

Ren is super available for a hug! It is normal to wait a bit after the vaccine if there is any reason whatsoever to think you might react to it, and "nervous child" usually isn't such a reason but "maybe a monster" is, so they can hang out in the exam room for a bit while the doctor comes up with a vaccine schedule for catching her up to all the things she ought to be immunized against and may not be.

"I have a headache, Swan-san," Kennedy reports after a quarter-hour.  "But it might just be from crying."

"Let's get you a cup of water." There's a water cooler.

"Okay."

Water is pretty good, it turns out.  But it doesn't really touch the headache either way.

"Do you want to go home, or do you think we should stay here a bit longer just in case?" Ren asks five minutes after the water.

"I don't know...."

They can wait a bit longer.

"...I guess we can go,"  Kennedy sniffs after another five.

"Okay then. I'm sorry that was so frightening." Up they get.

"Thank you...  It's nice, having someone I can hug."

"I practice a lot!" Pat pat.

Kennedy accepts the pats.  And... they can go home??

Yup, back out of the hospital and onto the train.

It feels a little bit like her headache is getting better, so probably that was from the crying.  She leans on Swan-san.  She does feel really pretty tired.  So many things have been happening to her.

Does she want ice cream once they're home?

...As long as it's not too sweet, yes; she'll have some.

It's not super sweet. It's just strawberry ice cream.

She eats most of it with decent enthusiasm but really slows down on the last quarter.
